Marcel Westphal has worked as a lawyer, corporate lawyer, secretary to the board of directors of a listed company and as an interim corporate lawyer.
He has worked in the waste and recycling industry (Afvalverwijdering Limburg/Essent Milieu), in manufacturing (Teleplan International N.V.), in pension funds (Philips Pensioenfonds), in the real estate sector (Kantorenfonds Nederland and Corio Kantoren and Corio Nederland), the gaming industry (Janshen-Hahnraths Group, Fair Play Centers, Fair Play Online, Fair Play Gaming and Fair Play Gambling) and at law firms (Adelmeijer Hoyng Advocaten and Thuis en Partners Advocaten).
Marcel is an experienced advisor and sounding board for directors, board members, MT members, buyers, salespeople and HRM professionals. He is also regularly engaged by corporate lawyers as an advisor and sparring partner. Always with the same goal in mind: finding a solution, legal, commercial or otherwise.
He is a certified Spanish and French translator and also speaks English and German.
Marcel began his career in November 1994 as a lawyer and from May 2003 ran his own law firm, Westphal Advocatuur.
Since April 2012, he has been working with Sven Johansen under the name Westphal Johansen Advocaten.
Marcel closely follows new developments, particularly in the fields of ICT, privacy, data and big data, software and hardware, industrial developments, clean tech and the circular economy.
In his spare time Marcel is a keen tennis player and is a member of Nuenen Lions Club.
